Boxes

We all have boxes. Boxes of God. Boxes of life. Boxes of how relationships are supposed to work. Boxes of how men are supposed to be. How women are supposed to be. I had a pretty defined box of God. I could explain everything in that box. It was working. Everything’s fine until something happens outside of the box that doesn’t fit. The friction builds. Maybe it’s a conversation with an old friend. You had so much in common back in the day.  Now you’re in completely different places. Whatever the case, you have 2 distinct choices. You can either:

1) Realize you need to quit the box-making business altogether at most or get a bigger box.

2) Believe that the reason the friction happened was because you’re box wasn’t strong enough. It was cardboard before but now you’re looking at reinforced steel/”defensive city”.
